Let's Talk About the State Convention!
We'd love to hear about your experiences at the state convention in March 2010. Be sure to share some photos and ideas. WAY TO GO ERIE!
ReplyDeleteThe Erie City School District HOSA Chapter (Health Occupation Students of America) attended the PA State Conference March 17th - March 19th in Lancaster Pa. The chapter was just formed this year with adviser Elaine Stanton. Nine students attended and seven participated in competitive events which included, medical and dental spelling, medical math, medical terminology, extemporaneous poster, job seeking skills and biotechnology.
I am pleased to announce that Ms. Tiajah Jones from NWPA Collegiate Academy brought home the silver medal in Biotechnology! This second place has given Erie the opportunity to attend nationals in Orlando Florida June 22nd - 26th.
Elaine Stanton would like to give special thanks to AHEC Patty Stubber and Jane Mullinax, Gannon University Dr. Carolynn Masters, Central Tech Sonja Groendhall, Parent Hazel Pierson and to all the students for a job well done.
Archbishop Wood High School from Warminster,Pa had the best time at the 2010 HOSA state conference!
ReplyDeleteHi I'm Anna Burke and I'm the new Vice President! I'm pleased to say that the conference was the best experience of my life! I had fun with my fellow class mates and had fun making new friends with my fellow state officers and other contestants. I look foward to see all of our past and new members at the conference next year!!

Hello, my name is Al-Tariq Hill, I am your PENNHOSA President, from Monroe Career and Technical Institute, it is a honor to become apart of this great organization. ReplyDeleteJOHN Bartram HIGH SCHOOL IN PHILADELPHIA HAS CAUGHT THE HOSA BUG. LAST MARCH WE HAD 5 STUDENTS ATTEND THE STATE LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE. THEY CAME BACK AND TOLD THE REST OF THE STUDENTS ABOUT THE GREAT EXPERIENCE THEY HAD. LAST YEAR WE STRUGGLED TO GET 10 MEMBERS. THIS YEAR WE HAVE THIRTY WHO HAVE REQUESTED MEMBERSHIP.
ReplyDeleteLast year Overbrook High School placed in the Forensic Science Competition and the team was able to attend the national conference in Cali. Go Overbrook and we now have a Forensic Science class
